(New York) Research from the recently released book “Selling 2.0” has identified Lee Iacocca & Bill Gates as the two greatest sales people of our time. In a survey of sales people and buyers presented a list of 11 final candidates (pared down from 21 in a pre-test). Lee Iacocca was 1st with 31% of the vote with Bill Gates 2nd with 18%. Following next came president Bill Clinton and former president Ronald Reagan. Next came Michael Dell followed by Ted Turner and finally sales guru Brian Tracey.

Mr. Iacocca’s showing was remarkable considering he left as Chrysler CEO in 1993. When contacted, Mr. Iacocca said that he was very flattered humbled by the honor considering the stature of the others who finished at the top of the survey with. Ted Turner echoed that and commented, “It is a thrill to be honored among such a great group of individuals. I admire them all and extend my congratulations to the others.”
